

Seem out, FarmVille, The Sims are about to get social on Facebook.
EA will launch an extension, referred to as The Sims Social, to the well-known on-line game. The company made the announcement at E3 on Monday, but didn’t provide a start date. A Facebook Page for the game says just that The Sims Social is “coming shortly.” EA is also preparing to release a mobile companion app to the game.
The Sims, which lets users generate avatars named Sims for on their own and other folks, has sold much more than 140 million units worldwide because it was introduced in 2000. Considering that set up base, Sims could supply levels of competition to some Zynga social game titles like FarmVille, CityVille and Mafia Wars, which have attracted a total of 250 million month to month energetic customers.
The release comes after EA obtained Playfish for $ 400 million in 2009. The move was meant to adapt much more EA game titles to social media environments.
